Let's start with the most important stuff
Average Job Tenure
This was a bit of a surprise. Most reports mention 18 months as the average. Our survey for B2B marketers found the tenure to be much higher: 2.5 years (30 months)!
Also interesting was how much variance exists in a typical career
So most of folks have some seriously long and some seriously short stays.
Next we asked about reasons that contributed to longevity.
Couple of observations
- Most of the focus was outwards (management, company, culture)
- Performance figured but not in top 3
- Team was a surprising distant factor (servant leadership anyone?!)
And what is everyone worried about?
The question was completely open-ended and not guided.
- AI/Tech dominated the list
- Economy/Budget was high (no surprise there!)
- Management was a lowly 7th on the list! (see previous question)
- Noise and proliferation of channels also made the list
