This was a bit of a surprise. Most reports mention 18 months as the average. Our survey for B2B marketers found the tenure to be much higher: 2.5 years (30 months)!

So most of folks have some seriously long and some seriously short stays.

Next we asked about reasons that contributed to longevity.

Couple of observations

  • Most of the focus was outwards (management, company, culture)
  • Performance figured but not in top 3
  • Team was a surprising distant factor (servant leadership anyone?!)
